How Much Does SEO Cost in India in 2026? Monthly Packages, Jaipur Rates and What You Get

Ask five agencies for a quote and you’ll get five numbers. SEO packages in Jaipur that publish their prices start at around ₹8,000 a month, India-wide guides put most small and mid-sized businesses somewhere between ₹15,000 and ₹60,000, and enterprise retainers run into lakhs, so the spread alone tells you very little until you know what sits inside each package. Published rates help. So does knowing what each price band usually buys, and spotting the red flags that turn a cheap package into an expensive one a year later.

Key takeaways

  • Published Jaipur packages start around ₹8,000 a month.
  • Most Indian SMBs pay ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 a month, according to rate cards compiled by Webhorse Studio in October 2026.
  • Ahrefs found 76% of India-based SEOs charge $1,000 a month or less.
  • Below roughly ₹15,000, expect 10 keywords, basic on-page work and a monthly report, with little real content or link building.
  • Walk away from anyone guaranteeing rankings. Google says no one can.

How much does SEO cost in India per month?

Most small and mid-sized Indian businesses pay between ₹15,000 and ₹60,000 a month. That’s the band Webhorse Studio landed on after comparing published rate cards from three Indian agencies, with an overall market range of ₹10,000 to ₹2,00,000 a month (Webhorse Studio, October 2026). Freelancers sit below it. Enterprise retainers sit well above.

Brainguru’s April 2026 pricing guide breaks the market into tiers, and it calls its own figures “indicative planning figures, not a tariff” (Brainguru), a caveat worth remembering for every number on this page. The tiers look like this:

Provider or tier Typical monthly range
Freelancer ₹15,000 to ₹50,000
Starter agency package ₹15,000 to ₹30,000
Growth or mid-sized agency ₹30,000 to ₹75,000
Premium or advanced ₹75,000 to ₹1,50,000
Enterprise ₹1,50,000 and up

International surveys tell the same story from a different angle. Ahrefs polled 439 SEO providers and found that 76% of India-based SEOs charge $1,000 or less per month on retainer (Ahrefs), while the most common retainer worldwide was $501 to $1,000. Indian rates run low globally. They aren’t uniform, though, and the gap between a ₹10,000 package and a ₹60,000 one is mostly a gap in hours and content.

What do SEO packages in Jaipur cost?

Lower, at least on paper. Jaipur SEO agencies that publish prices cluster between ₹8,000 and ₹45,000 a month, and the two clearest rate cards we found both start under ₹10,000, though neither guide above singles out tier-2 cities, so treat the comparison as a rough one rather than a measured gap.

Agency and package Monthly price Headline inclusions
RK Technosys, Startup ₹8,000 Up to 10 keywords, local optimisation, monthly report
RK Technosys, Advance ₹15,000 Up to 20 keywords, schema, on-page work
RK Technosys, Ultimate ₹25,000 Up to 40 keywords, guest posts, press release
Aero Business Solutions, small business ₹8,500 to ₹25,000 10 to 50 keyphrases, 10 to 50 pages
Aero Business Solutions, local SEO ₹12,500 to ₹45,000 Google Business Profile, 5 to 25 citations
Aero Business Solutions, ecommerce ₹15,000 to ₹45,000 10 to 50 keyphrases, 5 to 15 products a month

Plenty of other Jaipur agencies, including our SEO team in Jaipur, only quote after they’ve looked at the site, its competitors and the keywords worth chasing, so published rate cards only ever describe part of the market.

What do you get at each price point?

It depends almost entirely on how many hours sit behind the package. A ₹10,000 retainer at agency rates buys a few hours a month, and nobody can research keywords, fix technical issues, write content and earn links in a few hours, so something gets dropped. Usually it’s content and links.

Under ₹15,000 a month. Expect around 10 keywords, on-page tweaks to titles and meta tags, a Google Business Profile check and a monthly ranking report, and that’s fine for a single-location clinic or shop in a low-competition niche. Not much else.

₹15,000 to ₹40,000 a month. This is where real work starts to appear: 20 to 40 keywords, a technical audit with fixes, two to four pieces of content a month and some outreach. Most local service businesses in Jaipur that are serious about search will want at least this much effort; our local SEO page for Jaipur explains how that work gets scoped.

₹40,000 a month and up. Ecommerce catalogues, multi-city businesses and anyone competing nationally. The extra money should buy more content, proper link building, CRO and someone senior who reads your analytics, and if it doesn’t buy those, ask what it does buy.

Freelancer, agency or in-house: which costs less?

On the invoice, the freelancer. Ahrefs’ survey found 85.7% of India-based SEOs charge $30 an hour or less (Ahrefs), and a good independent consultant can be excellent value for a site that needs focused technical or on-page work from one experienced pair of hands.

The catch shows up later. One person rarely covers technical SEO, content, links and reporting equally well, and when they go on leave, the work stops. Agencies cost more because they spread the job across specialists. In-house is the priciest route for most SMBs; Brainguru puts an in-house hire at ₹35,000 to ₹1,20,000 a month in salary, plus ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 for tools and training (Brainguru), before you count management time.

Option Best for Main risk
Freelancer Small sites, one-off audits Single point of failure
Agency Ongoing growth across several channels Junior staff on your account
In-house Large sites with daily SEO needs Highest fixed cost

What pushes the price up or down?

Competition sets the floor. Ranking a Jaipur dental clinic for “dentist in Malviya Nagar” takes a fraction of the work needed to rank an online furniture store for “sofa set” across India, because the national query has dozens of funded competitors with years of content behind them.

A messy site costs more. A WordPress site with 40 pages and clean code is cheap to optimise, while a 6,000-product ecommerce store with duplicate URLs and slow category pages needs weeks of technical work before rankings move at all; our technical SEO audit guide shows what that first pass covers. Content adds up quickly as well, since every extra article a month adds cost, and content is usually the line item that separates a ₹12,000 package from a ₹35,000 one.

Scope matters too. Local SEO costs less than national SEO, and international work across several countries and languages costs more again. Ecommerce sits in its own bracket, since product pages and filtered category URLs both need attention, and a catalogue of 5,000 SKUs takes far longer to optimise than a 40-page service site.

Red flags in cheap SEO packages

Guarantees top the list. Google’s own guidance on hiring an SEO says it plainly: “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google” (Google Search Central). A package that promises “top 10 for 20 keywords” is either picking keywords nobody searches for or selling you something it can’t control, and either way you end up paying for a report rather than results.

“200 backlinks a month” on a ₹7,000 package almost always means trouble. Skip it. That number usually means directory spam, comment links or paid guest posts on sites built for selling links, and Google’s spam policies (Google Search Central) class links made mainly to manipulate rankings as link spam. We’d rather see five links from sites your customers read. That’s the principle our link building service runs on.

Read the contract too. If you won’t have access to your own Search Console and Analytics, or you’re locked in for 12 months with no exit clause, ask why before you sign, and push back on reports that only ever show rankings when what you’re paying for is leads.

How should you budget for SEO in 2026?

Plan for six months minimum. SEO compounds slowly, and the first two or three months often go on fixes that don’t show up in traffic yet, so a budget you can only sustain for 90 days is a budget that’ll probably get cancelled just before it starts paying back.

Our rough budget bands, drawn from the published ranges above:

Business type Sensible monthly budget
Single-location local business ₹10,000 to ₹25,000
Multi-location or B2B services ₹25,000 to ₹60,000
Ecommerce, a few hundred products ₹30,000 to ₹75,000
National brand or large catalogue ₹75,000 and up

Use Google’s checklist. Its page on hiring an SEO suggests asking, among other things, “What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe? How do you measure your success?” (Google Search Central), and we’d put that question first on any call with a prospective agency. A vague answer to that one question tells you more about a package than its price does, and a specific one, with a timeline and named metrics, is the best sign you’ll get before signing anything.

Where to start

Shortlist three providers. Ask each for a written scope listing hours and deliverables, plus how they’ll report, line them up against the price bands above, and drop anyone who guarantees rankings or won’t give you access to your own data. We price the same way, after a free SEO audit of your site, so the quote reflects your competition and your site’s condition rather than a fixed package.
